Mineral Cable Head

Product Description

Mineral product structure composition and use:
Copper core copper sheathed magnesium oxide insulated cable, manufacturer overseas called MI cable, domestic referred to as mineral cable or fireproof cable. It is a modern building wiring cable and a cable used in special industries (metallurgy, chemical, petroleum, etc.) made by using high conductivity copper as the conductor, inorganic magnesium oxide as the insulation, and seamless copper tube as the sheath (see cable structure diagram) through special processes. Due to the special nature of its materials and structure, this product has electrical, mechanical, environmental resistance, and environmental performance that organic cables (plastic cables) cannot match. The long-term use temperature of bare cables is 250 ℃, and they can sustain power supply for 3 hours (90 minutes according to national standards) between 950 ℃ and 1000 ℃. (90 minutes according to national standards). They can work close to the melting point of copper at 1083 ℃ in short or extraordinary periods (the melting point of magnesium oxide insulation is 2800 ℃).
Advantages of intermediate connectors for mineral cables:
The materials produced by our company are lead yellow copper rods and Hpb.  Due to the limitation of the length of the cable raw material (copper sheath with copper tube) on the growth rate of mineral insulated cables, the cable laying and installation process is affected by different electrical circuit cable configurations. Therefore, intermediate connectors are required to connect two cables of the same specification together during the cable laying and installation process to ensure that the length of the line is met. The two ends of the coupler are composed of internal threaded seamless pipes, copper compression pipes, and insulation heat shrink sleeves and other accessories!

Construction method for installing mineral insulated cables:
1. Cut a line on the cable according to the required length with a pipe cutter (the copper sheath line cannot be cut), and then use diagonal pliers to twist the sheath copper leather between the jaws in a clockwise direction, step by step clamping the edge of the sheath copper leather and turning it at a small angle to cut off until the cut is made!
2. Thoroughly remove the magnesium oxide insulation material on the exposed wires with a clean dry cloth, then place the bundle head on the cable and screw the brass sealing cup vertically onto the copper skin of the cable sheath. At the beginning, use your hands to tighten the bundle and slide the bundle head on the sealing cup to check the verticality of the cup. Once it is truly vertical, use a pipe wrench to clamp the roller seat of the sealing cup and continue installation until one end of the tiger skin is lower than the local thread inside the sealing cup!
3. Heat the cable with a blowtorch flame approximately 600mm from the beginning of the cable run, and continuously move the flame towards the open end of the cable to remove any moisture. Remember to only move the flame towards the open end of the cable, otherwise it will drive moisture into the interior of the cable!
4. Use an ohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance between the cores and between the cores and the sheath. If the measurement results meet the requirements, sealant can be injected into the sealing cup. Note that the sealing paste should be gradually added from one side, not too quickly, in order to exhaust the air completely. Wait for the sealing paste to fill up, press on the cup lid, then use a heat shrink tubing to cover the wire core, and finally use an ohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance again. If the insulation is too low, do it again!
